The Seven Sacraments

The sacraments are outward signs of inward grace, instituted by Christ for our sanctification

Baptism

The sacrament of initiation into the Christian faith. Parents should contact the parish office at least one month before the desired baptism date.

Requirements:

  • Birth certificate
  • Godparents (one must be Catholic)
  • Baptismal preparation classes

First Holy Communion

The first reception of the Eucharist. Children typically receive this sacrament after adequate catechetical preparation, which includes Confession.

Requirements:

  • Baptismal certificate
  • Completion of catechism classes
  • First Confession before First Communion

Confirmation

The sacrament that strengthens the gifts of the Holy Spirit received at Baptism. Administered by the Bishop, it deepens one's union with the Church.

Requirements:

  • Baptismal and First Communion certificates
  • Completion of Confirmation preparation program
  • Sponsor who is a confirmed Catholic

Matrimony (Marriage)

The sacrament by which a man and woman establish a lifelong covenant of love. Couples must contact the parish at least six months before the intended wedding date.

Requirements:

  • Baptismal and Holy Eucharist certificates
  • Pre-marital preparation course
  • Certificate of freedom to marry

Anointing of the Sick

The sacrament of healing for those who are gravely ill, facing surgery, or in old age. Contact the parish office to arrange for this sacrament at any time.

How to Request:

  • Contact the parish office at any time
  • Available for hospital visits
  • Home visits can be arranged

Reconciliation (Confession)

The sacrament of God's mercy and forgiveness. Through this sacrament, sins committed after Baptism are forgiven and we are reconciled with God and the Church.

Confession Times:

  • On Saturdays
  • Before any Sunday Mass
  • By appointment with the parish priest
